Market Outlook
- Next-generation space propulsion system development: continuous work toward the development of core technology for securing launch vehicles that can respond efficiently to a variety of launch missions and securing future space transportation capacity
- Mid to long-term launch vehicle development and operations strategy
- Development of our own launch vehicles to respond to a variety of demands (nano, medium and large-size, space exploration, etc.) and construction of a launch service ecosystem through technology transfer to civilian organizations
- Promoting operation of launch vehicles according to the principle that government-developed satellites be launched with Korean launch vehicles
- Repeated launches and performance improvements to secure the reliability of the Nuri launch vehicle
- 3 repeated launches will be carried out by 2027, with satellites included as primary and secondary payload for carrying out a variety of missions
- Through transfer of the primary technology of the Nuri launch craft (design/production/testing, etc.), fostering of civilian companies for carrying out Nuri launch craft production/assembly/launch, etc.
- Continuously pursuing performance improvements such as development of large-scale pairing, engine performance improvements, and fuselage lightening, etc. for mission diversification
-
- Development of next-generation launch graft for large-scale space transportation such as space exploration
- After securing capabilities for 7-ton low-orbit and 3.7-ton geostationary orbit satellite insertion, we will expand our capabilities for concentrated space exploration
- Based on the technology we have acquired for the Nuri launch vehicle, we will develop a launch vehicle with a 2-stage structure applying a multi-stage burner cycle engine
- Technology development in consideration of the transition to reusable launch vehicles and development that allows for expansion of capabilities in consideration of large-scale missions to be carried out in the future
Commercialization Plans
-
Through participation in Korean launch vehicle (KSLV-II) development projects, we have standardized production technology for liquid rocket engines and built infrastructure for producing them. In addition, we have carried out technological cooperation both domestically and abroad to develop globally competitive launch vehicles and are carrying out continuous technological improvements. For a space industry in which governments and civilian companies cooperate, we are strengthening our specialized production facilities, which boast high reliability and building mass production systems, as an engine component production specialist. In the future, we will improve the core process technology of Korean launch vehicles by creating our own facilities and further improving our technological level.
