Product Overview and Main Content
Ground station antenna system for low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites
- Refers to a system used to connect satellites and data centers on the ground for data transmission and reception, satellite control, network connection, etc.
- The ground station antenna system for low-orbit satellites is designed to transmit and receive data stably and efficiently, overcoming the problem of data transmission and reception with low-orbit satellites that are located at an altitude of 200 to 1500 kilometers and orbiting at a speed of 7.5 kilometers per second
- No-keyhole antenna system to solve data transmission and reception interruptions
Product Highlights
-
Dual-band (S/X-band) antenna system
Applied to commercialized products through in-house technical development of dual-band feeds that can simultaneously transmit and receive S-band frequencies and receive X-band frequencies
-
Detachable structure for scalability of the developer environment
Achieved scalability of development by supplying a detachable antenna positioner, which can be used by purchasing only the necessary parts, thereby providing a wider selection of reflectors and feeds than an all-in-one type
-
Predictive maintenance technology
Real-time monitoring of driving load and predictive simulation of operation in connection with weather forecasts enables users to maintain the antenna hardware in advance. It also enables efficient antenna operation by automatically scheduling antenna maintenance.
-
Antenna with satellite tracking function
Minimizes data loss by applying a satellite reception signal strength measurement module to ensure constant gains
Areas of Application
-
High-speed communications
- Autonomous driving, UAM, and 6G communication and high-speed communication on land and sea and in island and mountainous areas
- 3D-type communication made possible in connection with a cable ground network
Ocean and aviation tracking
- Improved safety, security, and efficiency for the offshore and aviation industries
- Monitoring of shipping routes and illegal fishing and enhanced efficiency of search and rescue operations
Disaster and emergency management response
- Providing time data for natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, typhoons, etc.
Navigation and mapping
- Providing accurate positioning and navigation services for a wide range of applications
- Contributing to accurate mapping and cartography to support urban planning infrastructure development and the operation of land and geographic information systems

Business Results
Market Outlook
- Increased interest in building ground infrastructure
- The commercial satellite industry accounts for about 72% of the global space industry, with a market size of about USD 279 billion (KRW 344 trillion), as of 2021, and the ground equipment field, which provides the infrastructure and equipment needed for satellite operations, accounts for 50.8% of the total sales in the satellite industry.
- The satellite antenna market is expected to grow from USD 410 million in 2021 to USD 1.05 billion by 2026.
Commercialization Plans
-
- The company plans to commercialize the small satellite antenna after installing the antenna system at the in-house R&D center and operating it to verify its reliability. This is expected to enable the company to supply antenna systems with technological competitiveness, in terms of high gain and ease of maintenance and use, to domestic and foreign customers that are building and operating ground stations. Also, preliminary research is underway to commercialize an electronic beam-steering antenna for gateways with the application of next-generation technology in the second half of 2025. A prototype will be completed in 2026 for a demonstration test at the in-house research center. Through these efforts, GTL expects to achieve a high growth rate along with the rapid growth of the global space industry.
