- #6 Degrees of Freedom
Messian started in 2020 as an in-company venture of the automotive E/E part company Mando Co. It developed a high-performance 6-DOF gimbalcopter, and in 2022 it succeeded in being the first in the world to enter mass production under the model name MWing RA28. We intend to become a world-leading drone platform by expanding the worldview of gimbalcopters, and give our clients an impression even deeper than the freedom of flight.

제품 개요 및 주요 내용
A 6-DOF drone (gimbalcopter®) capable of capturing high-resolution video without shaking even without an attached gimbal by adjusting the angle of the propellers.
- An aerial vehicle designed to allow the four drive motors to rotate roll and pitch independently of the main body in order to add freedom and allow it to achieve optimized performance when used for a variety of purposes, even without the use of an instrument like a gimbal.
- The under-development drone is composed of a frame, four drive motors, two sub motors, and linkages, and by adjusting the angle of the sub motors, the roll and pitch angles of the drive motors can be adjusted uniformly and independently of the main body. Tracking of a target object is possible even without a gimbal, and compared to existing drones it has advantages like lower price, variety of functions, and superior dynamic performance.
- By combining the functions of gimbal drones and PFPV drones, it can not only increase convenience for consumers but also increase the variety
Product Highlights
-
Control Difficulty
- Because existing racing drones control flight by changing the angle of the main body, extensive practice is required for users who are not used to FPV goggles
- Because this drone can maintain a level camera angle regardless of the direction and speed of drone movement, there is less feeling of unfamiliarity when piloting it -
Flight Speed
- Because a conventional drone has to lower its heading angle in order to move forward, air resistance is increased and minimum flight speed has remained at 90km/h
- When this drone moves forward, the body is can be kept level, minimizing air resistance and allowing it to achieve forward flight speeds of over 120km/h -
Filming Still Objects
- Because conventional racing drones do not have a separate gimbal, it is difficult for them to continuously capture subjects with variable speed for a long time, and novices experience considerable difficulty when starting to use an FPV drone
- Because this drone has a gimbal integrated into the main body, the camera angle can be adjusted as desired, making flight easy and allowing for subjects to be continuously captured more conveniently -
Flight Responsiveness
- Conventional drones have to change the angle of the fuselage with a large moment of intertia in order to move forward or backward, which takes a lot of time and energy
- This drone uses two sub motors so that forward and reverse flight are possible when the angle of the BLDC motors is changed, which takes much less time and energy than changing the angle of the fuselage.
Areas of Application
-
Photography Drone
With fast flight and freedom of angle adjustment, it can move at high speed and capture video from a variety of angles
-
Military Drone
Even when moving at high speed, it can aim precisely at a target, making it appropriate for a variety of missions that require a high degree of reliability
-
UAM (Urban Air Mobility)
Because it allows for flight with the main body kept level, it offers superior comfort, while its agile maneuverability it optimal for preventing collisions

Market Outlook
- China’s DJI controls over 70% of the global civilian drone market
- Due to issues like US sanctions on China, the civilian drone ecosystem is developing slowly
- For the time being, it would be difficult for any company to overtake DJI with quadcopters
- Only a “game changer” with a design radically different from current drones can beat DJI
